First UMC is a church focused on sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Bible as the Word of God. We are a church that welcomes all people, regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender. We are a safe place for people to come, worship and spend time together. About Us

First United Methodist Church is located on Route 61 (Sunbury Street) in Shamokin, PA. We love our city and are creating new ways to help make this community a better place.

Our Pastor

Rev. Elizabeth Hickok started as our pastor on July 1, 2025. Pastor Libby earned her M.Div from Princeton Theological Seminary in the Spring of 2025 and was commissioned as a Provisional Elder in the UMC at the 2025 Annual Conference. She is excited to be in ministry with our church. Her office hours are Monday through Thursday. Please reach out to schedule an appointment. ​
